Reports suggest that the actor was preparing for his morning flight to Kolkata when the revolver slipped from his hand and accidentally discharged.
After being shot, actor Govinda issued his first statement. He recorded an audio message from the hospital, thanking his doctor and fans for their support.
In an audio message, Govinda said in Hindi, “Hello, I am Govinda. With the blessings of my fans, my parents, and God, I am now better. I was shot, and the bullet has now been removed. I thank the doctor here, Dr. Agrawal. I am grateful to all of you for your prayers.”
